MEET
MATT WILSON
Meadow Sounds Owner / Producer / Engineer / Musician
Drumming since a toddler – multi-instrumentalist, composer and producer Matt Wilson has spent over 15 years performing and recording on stages and in studios over the world.
Matt’s eclectic production ear, ability to jump between instruments and technical knowledge of engineering techniques is the foundation of the Meadow Sounds tone – along with a methodical workflow and attention to detail that comes from experience working alongside acclaimed international artists and producers.
Matt believes in the true art of recording, the use of microphones capturing real humans playing real instruments. Transforming artists’ original ideas into musical soundscapes inspired by classic records of yesterday, while constantly innovating and adapting modern techniques and sounds.
A close network of professional musicians assist Matt with building the sound designs, including string, piano, brass and acoustic arrangements, vocal harmonies and percussive layers.
Always engaged and learning, Matt volunteers on the committee for Gore’s Tussock Country Music Festival and is studying Bachelor degrees in Audio Production & Contemporary Music at Invercargill’s Southern Institute of Technology.
